Five people were prosecuted for the sexual exploitation of at least eight women in a bar in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Flores, which they used as a front. According to authorities, the women approached clients to offer sexual services, agreed on rates, and then had to inform the bar's managers of the agreed price, who retained 50% of the value.
The place had been operating since 2010, and it is estimated that at least seven women were being sexually exploited. Nicknames and names were mentioned for at least two people identified as managers of the place, as well as a large-built individual who performed security functions and occasionally accompanied the women to a nearby hotel.
The investigation began following an anonymous call to Line 145 and was carried out by the National Criminal and Federal Correctional Prosecutor's Office No. 12. The method used included a system of 'drinks' and 'passes', after which the victims were taken to a nearby hotel. The prosecutions, without preventive detention, were established by the National Criminal and Federal Correctional Court No. 7.
Two men and one woman were prosecuted as co-authors of the crime of human trafficking for aggravated sexual exploitation, while another man and another woman were considered as presumed necessary participants in the same crime. The accused were prevented from leaving the country, and $300 million in assets were seized, taking into account the illicit income obtained from the exploitation.
The events occurred between May 2022 and May 2023, during which at least eight women were exploited in the aforementioned bar. The place was closed following a raid carried out a year after the complaint was received through Line 145. A sixth accused, initially charged, was dismissed.
